Main Areas of Focus

Big Rock Equipment designs and supplies new equipment and wear parts to the mining industry. Our engineered equipment includes liners, crusher spare parts, gear spray systems, inching drives, and lubrication systems. The equipment has been designed by Big Rock Equipment and, while similar to the equipment supplied by the OEM, we have designed our equipment with maintenance and simplicity in mind.

As a teenager Shawn spent time working for the Metso Minerals mechanical service team based out of Kelowna. This meant starting as a laborer cleaning and removing grinding mills and crushers. As part of this team, Shawn learned first hand from some of Metso's top field service personnel. Over the past 15 years, Shawn has had the opportunity to work with some of today's most knowledgeable mining professionals in both the equipment sales and mechanical fields. Having spent a great deal of time removing, installing and rebuilding Nordberg cone crushers Shawn has become extremely knowledgeable in this area. Recently becoming the majority shareholder in the company, Shawn has shifted the focus of the company towards aftermarket crusher parts, liners, and complete machine supply.

Glenn has over 35 years experience in the Mine Management and Procurement fields. After the Brenda Mine closure in 1990, Glenn spearheaded the liquidation of the company’s mechanical and structural assets. Glenn was also heavily involved with the mine environmental decommissioning, procurement, mine closure, and asset recovery consultation within Noranda. In 1996 Brenda Process Technology was purchased from Noranda by Svedala. Svedala was consequently purchased by Metso Minerals in 2001. Within both these companies, Glenn has been in senior management concentrating on field service, marketing, project management, and aftermarket sales. After leaving Metso in 2004 Glenn founded Big Rock Consulting Inc.
